As Principal Network Architect / Manager – Enterprise MPLS Service &
Solution support -
Responsibilities:
Functional:
· Developing high level & low level network designs, BoQs,
implementation plans & advanced router/switch configuration templates for
new network rollouts and existing network evolution & expansion.
· Raising
required orders in tools for new capacity &
equipment addition or augmentation of existing resources. Following up with
other teams for quick order flow through the workflow system leading to quick
implementation.
· Prepare
detailed technical guidelines for new
product/service rollouts. Support Service Planning for creation of
order to bill process flows, required tools & configuration templates for
smooth service delivery & assurance of the new product.
· Supporting
Solution Architects to design complex/non-standard solutions around existing
standard products like Layer 3 VPN, Internet Leased line, L2 VPN,
IPSec VPN, VPLS, Managed CPE, Telepresence, Voice VPN, IDC, Cloud & other
managed services.
· Capacity
& Equipment planning for network upgrades. Review of network resource
utilization & traffic analysis using various
tools & reports.
o Resources monitored include backbone & cross connect capacity,
backbone & edge ports fill factor, backbone Queues, Memory, CPU, TCAM,
etc.
· Plan for
timely license additions & upgrades of NMS/Provisioning systems
· Planning
for network IGP changes for new link & node addition.
· Monitoring
network performance & exceptions using various
reports generated TCL tools. Planning for necessary network changes, upgrades
& optimization accordingly.
· Conduct
quarterly network audits for verifying network configuration, high
availability, resiliency & security. Configuration audit done using TCL
developed configuration audit tool.
· Resolving
level 4 escalations from Operations. Support
operations in root cause analysis for complex cases and for fast recovery in
case of major outages.
· Supporting
service delivery for large & complex customer deliveries by
ensuring adequate resources provisioned in the network for these deliveries.
Supporting SD to develop new templates/modification of existing templates in
ISC & provisioning tool & BMX.
· Support
allied engineering teams such as Voice,
Telepresence, IDC, Cloud services to design & implement solutions using
IP/MPLS network as transport. Ensure network is capable to meet the strict
SLAs for these services. Support Access Engineering to evaluate new last
miles options for IP/MPLS services which include traditional wire line &
various DSL alternatives along with wireless options like Wimax, Ev-DO &
3G.
· Vendor
co-ordination & performance measurement. Co-ordinate with vendors for tracking equipment delivery, reviewing
service levels, understanding vendor technology & product roadmap.
Escalation of product related issues within Vendor organization when
required. Measure vendor performance on a monthly basis in terms of product
quality & support levels.
· Imparting
Service & Product trainings to Sales
Engineering, Service Assurance & Delivery teams. Imparting trainings to
new hires on TCL network & services.
Strategic:
· Work
with cross functional teams to prepare the Annual operating plan for
forecasting Capex/Opex for the next fiscal year.
· Set and
lead the 12 month service differentiation and leadership roadmap for
emerging technology (aligned with the strategic architecture).
· Identify
new technology and network features that will
delight customers and differentiate TCL, by working with alliance partners,
strategic suppliers, niche suppliers, industry groups, Sales, Product and
customers to prototype concepts.

strategic assessments of vendor proposals to
